You might have heard it elsewhere, but if you haven't, here is the important part:
Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are teaming to direct and produce three back-to-back features based on Georges Remi's beloved Belgian comic-strip hero Tintin for DreamWorks. Pics will be produced in full digital 3-D using performance capture technology.
The two filmmakers will each direct at least one of the movies; studio wouldn't say which director would helm the third.
As for Tintin itself, I never read the books, but I have very fond memories of watching the cartoon. So this is a project I have been looking forward too, for the nostalgia factor if nothing else.
I guess the only question is who will be the third director. Robert Zemeckis (The Polar Express, Forrest Gump) would be the obvious choice, but he might be otherwise engaged with his own cartoon projects. I'm not sure who else could be a good fit for this undertaking. Big shoes to fill and all that.

I never saw TinTin on TV but the books are great. Sounds like a good idea to me.
