The Daily Update: A Green Edward Norton Edition

April 17th, 2007 · No Comments

- Edward Norton will be the Hulk? Apparently so. That's some weird, weird casting right there. And yet, it does give me some hope that this movie could be good. After all Norton wouldn't take the part just for the money, right? right?

- Lawrence Kasdan, who is mostly known for being one of the writers of The Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark, has been hired to write a script for an upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans. I'm ashamed to admit it, but the truth is I had never heard of this movie, ever. Apparently this is a cult classic. I must belong to another cult.

- Surprising pretty much everybody, Disturbia took the top spot at the box office this weekend. The flick earned about $22 million, way more than second place Blades of Glory, which earned a little less than $14 million. The other five (five!) movies opening this weekend had pretty dismal results.

- Meanwhile, elsewhere in the world Mr. Bean's Holiday returned to the top spot ,  making it's international cume a nice $127 million. 300 took second place with close to $15 million in earnings, enough to get it past the $200 million mark.
