The Daily Round Up: Problems at Red Cliff Edition

April 18th, 2007 · No Comments

Here is what you must know:

Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams will star in The Time Traveler's Wife. The film will be based on the novel of the same name and will be directed by Robert Schwentke, who also directed Flightplan, the Jodie Foster starer. McAdams should work more, by the way. I miss seeing her on screen. It's been a while.

- Chow Yun-fat has dropped out of John Woo's epic Red Cliff. What makes this more shocking is that the pic is now in it's third day of shooting. Apparently there were some money issue. Definitely not good news for the flick, which is expected to become the most expensive Chinese film ever, with an estimated budget of $70 million.

- You know how the Weinsteins were thinking about splitting Grindhouse in two and giving it another go? Apparently, it won't happen. I think splitting the film in two could have worked before the original release. Now, after all the bad press? Not so much.
