According to Variety Mr. Bean's Holiday defeated 300 and took the top spot in the international box office. The pic took in about $33 million over the weekend from 26 territories. It finished first in most of those and had the biggest opening of the year in several of them. Impressive.

I honestly taught it had been too long since the Mr. Bean's prime for this film to be successful. But apparently there is still plenty of love for the character around the world. I'm glad, because I still like the character very much. Let's hope the film is actually good.

By the way, don't cry for 300. It took in a very nice $30 million from international markets for a total of $125 million. That total is sure to turn into something like $250-$300 million by the end of the pics run. Which is amazing.
