Slow week, the only big opener is 300. Of course, that will be plenty for many people.

The Players: The director Zack Snyder, who had previously directed the very good remake of Dawn of the Dead and Frank Miller, who wrote the comic book in which the movie is based. Oh, yeah, Gerard Butler is in it, and I guess some people really like the guy.
The Story: 300 Spartans fight thousands of Persians. A lot of blood follows.
Rotten Tomatoes: 61% fresh so far. Which is not that bad in itself, but many of the positive reviews are filled with caveats.

I don't really care what the critics say, I'm going to go to this one, turn my brain off and let the imagery take over me. Perhaps it's not a great story well told, just a mediocre story told with panache. And that's too bad. But I'll take that for now.

The Ultimate Gift

The Players: Well, Abigail Breslin is in it, and she is an Oscar nominated actress!
The Story: Guy inherits a lot of money. Guy still isn't happy. Guy tries to find out why.
