I, like so many others, love this story. And because of that I really hope that they have done a good job , so that the young ones can enjoy a new rendition of it. I myself am probably a little old for it though.

Also, this movies is directed by Gary Winick, who also directed “30 Going On 30″ and … Tadpole .

Eragon

The Players: Jeremy Irons and John Malkovich play secondary characters. Based on Christopher Paolini’s novel.
The Story: A farm boy (Luke Skywalker Eragon ) discovers he has Jedi powers a dragon’s egg. He must use this egg (well, the dragon that comes out of it actually) to fight Darth Vader an evil king.

I would be very surprised indeed if this one didn’t suck. A lot.

I know that Lord Of The Rings made a lot of money. But if you studio people want some of that money you need to make a good movie. Just adapting a popular fantasy book to the screen is not enough.

The Pursuit of Happyness

The Players: Will Smith and his own son, Jaden Smith.
The Story: Failing salesman has to take care of his son as he struggles to get a better life.

Based on a true story this is THE feel good movie of the year! Or not. Although I’m not sure what other movie would qualify (Hostel?). Will Smith’s work is supposed to be great, even if the rest of the movies isn’t.
