- JJ Abrams says that Star Trek XI is will open in 2008, not 2009. Perhaps they should select a director already? Or just admit that JJ is going to do it.
- Are you just dying to see "Tales From Earthsea", the new Studio Ghibli animation directed by Hayao Miyazaki's son Goro? Well, then you are out of luck. Due to some problems with the rights to the original Ursula K. Le Guin fantasy novel the movie can't premiere in the US before December 2008. That's a looooooong time.
- "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" sold 10.5 million DVDs in its first week of release. In case you can't tell, that's a lot. The film is expected to eventually become the biggest live action seller ever.
- Composer Ennio Morricone, of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" fame, will receive an honorary Oscar. Good for him.
